New publication: Bead-free deterministic DNA barcoding for single-cell genomics

We are pleased to share a new publication by Patrycja Baranowska, resulting from her research internship in the laboratory of Prof. Amy E. Herr at the University of California, Berkeley.

The article, entitled “Bead-free deterministic DNA barcoding using vacuum-driven loading of aqueous oligonucleotides to microwell arrays”, presents a new approach to deterministic DNA barcoding based on vacuum-driven loading of aqueous oligonucleotides into microwell arrays.

The developed method enables deterministic barcoding of 512 microwells while ensuring uniform barcode distribution and reducing reagent consumption. Importantly, the approach was successfully applied to generate high-quality ATAC-seq libraries, demonstrating its potential as a scalable platform for single-cell and single-nucleus genomics.

This work represents an important outcome of Patrycja’s research internship at UC Berkeley and highlights the value of international scientific collaboration in developing innovative tools for advanced genomic studies.

The research internship was supported by the Kosciuszko Foundation.

Congratulations to Patrycja and all co-authors on this achievement!
